Dear JA Supporter,
While the torch at Vancouver's Olympic Games has been extinguished, the sense of accomplishment and pride in the performances will carry on for long to come. JA staffers have been filled with the Olympic spirit, and we're sure that you were similarly inspired by the athletic feats and the sense of national unity that was ignited at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
With thirty-seven medals won by the U.S. Olympic Team, our athletes represented some of the best talent in the world, demonstrating the power of perseverance and believing in one's ability to succeed. Imagine our nation's potential for growth and achievement if we applied the same commitment to our young people's education. Just as athletes excelled at the Olympics through diligent training and honing their skills, at JA of Chicago we want the next generation to go for the gold and attain adulthood
success by understanding finances and what their futures may hold at a young age.
Excellence in almost any discipline requires dedication, practice, and repeated exposure to material early on in life. JA's programs are founded on this principle - we're helping young Americans perform at their best by teaching them the skills needed for success.
Olympic triple gold medalist Wilma Rudolph once said, "Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. The potential for greatness lives within each of us." I'm confident that our next generation will surpass expectations and achieve inspiring performances in the future if we provide them with a strong foundation in economic education today.
Sincerely, Sandy Daffé President Junior Achievement of Chicago

JA of Chicago wins gold!
Just as many American athletes recently stood atop the podium at the Winter Games, six members of the JA Chicago staff recently elevated their game and "won the gold!" In true Olympic fashion, JA Worldwide recently held a JA Staff Titan Competition, pitting JA offices from around the world against one another in a
friendly challenge to see who could demonstrate the most successful business strategies and investing skills in the
JA Titan program.
Offered to high school students,
JA Titan is one of our most popular programs. Through an online computer program, JA Titan teaches students about important business practices and simulates tough economic decision-making scenarios.
After several rounds of play in the JA Staff
Titan Competition, JA of Chicago's team triumphed, prevailing over 30 teams to win the competition. As champions of hard work and preparing for the future, JA staffers love to see determination and a commitment to economic education being rewarded. We'd like to congratulate the JA of Chicago team, as well as all other JA staff who participated!
